Open Access Policy

Revista Vigiles follows an immediate open access model, providing free and unrestricted access to all of its scientific content. The journal does not charge subscription or access fees to readers, nor article processing charges (APCs) to authors.

Open Access Principles

  • Free and immediate access: All content published by the journal is freely available, allowing users to read, download, print, copy, and share articles in accordance with the terms of the license adopted by the journal.

  • Reuse and sharing: Published articles are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits the sharing, distribution, adaptation, and reuse of the content, including for commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given to the authors and the original source and that any changes made are indicated.

  • Authors' rights: Authors retain the copyright to their works and grant Revista Vigiles the rights necessary to publish and make their works available through the media and systems adopted by the journal.

  • Editorial transparency and research integrity: Open access is supported by editorial practices based on transparency, accountability, peer review, and research integrity, with the aim of ensuring the quality and reliability of the published content.

  • Digital preservation: To ensure the long-term availability and accessibility of published content, Revista Vigiles preserves its articles through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). The journal also maintains copies of its content on institutional infrastructure, contributing to redundancy and continuity of access to its publications.

  • Long-term access: The journal's open access policy seeks to ensure that published content remains available to readers even in the event of changes to the editorial platform or its operating conditions, subject to the digital preservation mechanisms adopted by the journal.

Revista Vigiles therefore reaffirms its commitment to the democratization of scientific knowledge, the broad dissemination of research findings, and the preservation of published scientific output, in accordance with international open access principles.
